7:15: You’re welcome!
7:16: I am seated, but thank you for the invitation.
7:18: Huh? The economy? Did I tune in on the wrong night?
7:19: Ah, the economy is about our future and healthcare is our future, therefore the economy is healthcare. Huh?
7:20: Yes, we are the only wealthy nation, but God and the Invisible Hand wants it that way. Statistics don’t move me!
7:21: Pointing out that even having insurance does not mean that you are safe is good and reminds me of Michael Moore.
7:22: Yes, examples of working Americans getting screwed by managerial Americans – that’s what ultimately moves opinion polls.
7:23: We are too healthier! Money equals quality, come on!
7:23: I think Obama should emphasize more how not offering health insurance hurts small business. Doing so would turn one of Republicans’ argument against reform on its head.
7:23: I don’t understand numbers when there is more than one comma. He’s talking about stuff off in the future. Facts schmacts: I could make up these “numbers” on a spreadsheet, therefore I can’t believe any of it!
7:26: Good job putting direct pressure on Baucus and the Senate Finance committee.
7:27: Uh-oh, it looks like Obama is trying to rise above the fray instead of directing the fray. Say that the lies are wrong, call groups and people out on it. You can only change the discourse by being in it, not above it.
7:27: The plan. THE PLAN??? Do we get details soon???
7:29: If I will not have to change my current insurance, than why does the President have to repeat it twice? It’s clearly a lie or he wouldn’t emphasize it so much. That’s what Limbaugh tells me anyway.
7:30: Way to go those brave enough to not stand when the President says no one should gobankrupt from sickness or should be excised from a policy. That’s just Darwin!
7:32: Tax credits? That sounds complicated.
7:33: This is the first I’ve heard about phasing the exchange in, and I think it’s a good point and plan.
7:34: It’s smart to focus on the irresponsible behavior of individuals who refuse coverage. He’s right, and it makes Republicans feel better to know that healthy people will not shirk away. Of course everyone should have to have insurance, but how do we enforce it?
7:36: “There remain significant details to be ironed out.” Uh-oh. The three broad imperatives he lays out are nice, but it’s only new if you haven’t been paying attention to the debate (which is a lot of people).
7:36: Finally, addressing outright lies! This is the confrontation, and the need to call out leaders has long been due; it’s phenomenal that he did that. “This is a lie, plain and simple,” is the best line of the night.
7:37: A shouter! This is like the British system, and I love it. And it’s great that that person got booed down. But how do the crazies get into the chamber? And illegal aliens technically get healthcare now if they go to the emergency room; nothing would change.
7:38: Don’t attack an opposition point by first pointing out the nugget of truth therein.
7:40: I’m glad he’s focusing on the public option and calling it out as necessary. Everything he says is right and completely negates
7:42: Great allusion to public and private education. And great job pointing out how small the public option would be and how attacking it is a canard. It should still be included, however.
